I'm Going to Do Something Difficult

We live for frozen yogurt dates. We almost never eat out so we save any date money for the six dollars we spend on fro yo. On our most recent trip Derek got hazelnut, banana, and raspberry yogurt with peanuts and granola on top. I'm a chocolate girl all the way but since they don't usually have dairy-free chocolate flavors, I went with kiwi-strawberry and compensated with a few cookie dough bites, part of a cookie, some granola, and a little PB cup. It's basically an exact science we've narrowed it down to...3 cookie dough bites to 2 pieces of PB cup. Don't ask why but it's the best. Do you have a fave fro yo topping?! What's the best ratio? Please let me know and I promise we'll try it out. We understand this is important research.

Like our "table"? We've been making good use of the games we got for Christmas and since we don't have an actual table...Costco comes through again. We've played lots of mancala and Phase 10 this week.

I came home from work the other day and Derek had made one of my favorite meals. Spaghetti squash and sauce with mushrooms and ground turkey. The best.

This post has a lot of pictures of food but just roll with it. I've been eating lots of salads lately.

We also used a Christmas gift card to go get this deliciousness.

Grocery shopping afterwards and I was strangely craving Fruit Loops?! I think I've had Fruit Loops maybe three times in my life total.

Shared some dessert on the way home.

Still figuring out this portrait mode camera on my phone. No that is not my twin brother again next to Derek, that's just my hair pulled up in a baseball hat.

How many pictures do I have of Derek like this? He doesn't look thrilled but it's probably because I just beat him. ;)

Random but a goodie.

I've gotten these awful headaches the past few days in a row (they run in my family and it's not my first rodeo with these bad boys) but I think these ones were influenced by not eating enough. I've been pushing my body lately with exercise and I think the headaches are its way of telling me....FEED ME. The reason for the extra pushing on my body lately is...I'm going to run a half marathon this year! Wow, that sounds so full of hope. I hope I remember that exclamation point and how excited I was about this on my run tomorrow. ;) I wanted to do something hard this year and I decided calculus just wasn't worth it. So this is my goal! It's going to be difficult, that's for sure, but I have a feeling it will be surprisingly spiritual and so rewarding. I'm excited to write more about this soon. Derek has been so, so supportive. He is in the thick of searching for a job right now and it's honestly been really stressful for us, and I couldn't be more grateful to have such a steady guy even with all the stresses of life. He is a definite keeper.

Dinner tonight was spaghetti with regular noodles, Banza pasta noodles, and spaghetti squash. I also made some homemade ground turkey meatballs and threw together a side salad. You just can't mess with classic spaghetti and meatballs (except I think making it with squash and using turkey is definitely considering "messing" with it...but just go with it). We like it.

Happy weekend! Hope you eat some delicious food (I recommend brownies and ice cream)!
